Automation of the whole system of management and supervision of the functioning of the
systems including the safety at work, from the roughing mill up to the wrapping of bundles has
been completely replaced and / or updated by Automazioni Capitanio in the years from 2003
to 2009.
LINES OF COILING AND FINISHING COILS
The first winding line (partly disused and out of service) consisting of:
4 Garret winding machines type GEPC-500, suitable for winding skeins of 800 kg., Complete with dragers, hydraulic power unit, lubrication and accessories (installed, but not in use)
2 COM shears with clutch Type CVS 30 FR, with pneumatic deviators for sending the bars to the winding machines (currently dismantled and stored off-line)
Conveyor belt type TT-1400 (L = 18.65 mt., width = 1.4 m.) (installed but not in use)
Pneumatic cradle pusher for tilting the skeins on the hook conveyor (installed but not in
use)
2nd reel line Mfc.: DANIELI consisting of:
2 flying shears "CV4R" type, with laminated diverter, group for collecting and unloading
chunks, hydraulic unit
2 "TRO 250" rolled feeders with transmission parts and lubrication motor pumps,
coupling connected to the engine in command and various equipment
2 lines of water cooling of the laminate (L = 18 mt.) Complete with containment box for
cooling devices, distribution network,
2 lines for forming and conveying coils each with a "TRO 320" type rolled conveyor,
winding unit and spire forming unit (Edemborg) with horizontal axis
2 controlled coil cooling mats, with roller conveyor belt, axial flow fans, support
structures and accessories
2 devices for the collection of spires, skeins forming (1,000 ÷ 1,200 kg.) and loading onto
the hook conveyor consisting of: coil collecting plates, vertical axial rollers,
thrusters with oleo dynamic control, roller conveyor, hydraulic unit.
TRANSPORT LINE, COLLECTION AND COIL BINDING
Folding cradle device for loading the coils on the overhead conveyor (installed
downstream of the new winding services)
2 devices with folding cradle (analoge to the previous one) for winding area with Garret
and unloading area for conveying skeins to the pressbraiding services
Aerial cable transporter type TG-2200 (modified), length = 221 mt., 138 hooks, coil
weight 1,200 kg., Complete with support columns, control unit and accessories
Station of seaming single skeins (max pressing force 6.000 kg.) Complete with support
frame and vertical sliding of the tying machines
2 Binders type "LB 1350/6" with pneumatic drive complete with binder winding wire reels
Collection and binding services of skeins including: roller bench (L = 11 mt.), Rotating
collector with 4 coils for the collection of skeins, hydraulic device for the rotation of gears for the transmission of motion
Packing station for bundles of skeins (bundle weight: 2,000 / 3,000 kg.
max. pressing: 25,000 kg.) including: carriage to support the tying machines,
4 "LB 2400/8" binding machines with wire reel and accessories, hydraulic power Unit
The second winding line and the transport line, collection and bending skeins, were the subject of a significant revamping completed in 2011 concerning:
- the security system (active and passive)
- the management and supervision system (Capitanio Automations)
- the two DANIELI CV4R shears, which from start-stop to pneumatic clutch have been
transformed into electric start-stops.

AUXILIARY SERVICES FOR SYSTEM SUPERVISION
Production control and supervision system for production plants created by AIC and
composed of:
P PC 2 HP servers 2 Rec video surveillance 18 Panasonic cameras
Automation and control system made by AIC using 13 electrical panels with Allen-Bradley PLC
12 MARELLI transformers for a total of 16,760 KVA, control and control panels, electric cables,
various and auxiliary equipment
Mill water treatment plant including:
1 decanter type DA 12 disconnected and no longer in use, Hydrocyclone complete with scale collection and storage system, sedimentation tank, sand filters, cooling towers, clean water collection tank, sludge collection and thickening system, pumps, piping, instruments and various accessories
Scale deposit system, complete with accessories
Electricity distribution network and driving force
Industrial water network, fed in addition to the withdrawals from the river, also from No. 1 well for fire-fighting use.
Fire protection system with 17 UNI45 fire-proof mouths + 4 mouths for mobile groups with foam, n ° 4 valves,
4 foaming stations, detectors, control units and auxiliary systems of the department.
