Line components:
The mill is operating with 15 stands and can produce aluminum wire of diameters: 9.5;12;15;19mm. The main components of the line are:
Casting wheel
15 rolling stands
two vertical coilers
electrical driving and electrical control equipment
Casting wheel:
Feeding of liquid aluminum on the casting wheel is done through a horizontal runner made of stainless steel .
Driving of the casting wheel is made through an asincron motor equipped with frequency convertor and a gear box.
For closing casting ring steel strip is being used ; the steel strip is 100mm wide and 8400mm long.
Turning wheel can be adjusted in all planes and is installed at 2500mm distance and 45degrees angle related to the casting wheel. The returning wheel can be adjusted in order to keep the strip under proper tension.
Cooling of the casing wheel is done through special nozzles which can make the cooling in four directions. Cooling system is computer controlled.

Rolling stands:
The rolling mill is designed to be equipped with 17 rolling stands; in the present condition the rolling mill is equipped and operated with only 17 stands. The driving of stands is done through an AC electric motor with rotations controlled by PLC. Synchronizing between casting wheel and rolling stands is also done by PLC.
The transmission of the rotation from the main motor to the rolling stand is done by the belts.
Lubrication is done through these systems:
stands lubrication
transmission lubrication
emulsion filtering and injection
All lubrication systems are autometed and controlled by the operator at control desk.

Wire Cooling System (Bertin):
Wire Cooling System is a robust water and air system with important water consumption. It is so robust as no needs any interventions except in the maintenance shut down. This system is not automated. Adjusting the temperature ,when is needed, is done manually by the operator

Main Shear:
The shear is of rotary type with two knives and preumatic driving and is capable to react very fast for cutting during rolling when the coiling is swiching from one coiler to another.

The troughs for guiding the wire to the coilers

The guiding troughs are made of steel strip . it is one fix trough for guiding the wire from the last stand to the shear and one mobile trough for guiding the wire alternatively to the two coilers. The mobil trough is positioned yhrough a pneumatic system

Secondary Shear:

The secondary shear has the roll to cut the head of the wire at rolling start and to guide the wire head

Coilers:

The coiler is consisting of a fix flange , a mobile flange and 6 pallets which can be moved radiallythrough a mechanical system. Driving of the coiler is done through a DC motor.
Coiling of the wire is guided through a hydraulic guiding system.
Adjusting of the rotation speed and of the wire tension is done automatically.
